Forced to keep the truth of his identity secret, Hanbin must now find a way to survive in this strange new world without allowing others to find out his true identity, possibly get revenge on the beings who arbitrarily imprisoned him in a living hell against his will, and return to earth. On top of that, the enemies keep continuously matching his combat prowess, meaning every single fight he must endure is a life-or-death match, no matter his actual improved combat abilities.Īfter untold years for this hellish existence, One day Hanbin is unexpectedly let out of his prison only to discover himself in a world that hates and fears him as an 'Otherworlder', a summoned being sent by the demon king to ravage the lands and slay the world's protecting Goddesses, with a long history of violence and bad blood between the Natives and the otherworlders like Hanbin. There's just one problem: his "guideline" is malfunctioning, causing his Level to continuously revert to level 1 every time he's about to reach level 5, trapping Hanbin in an endless cycle of leveling and restarting for YEARS!. Hanbin is sent alone to an otherworldly mountain to train until he reaches Level 5. But before that, they will receive some training. Then he's teleported along with thousands of people in front of a God, who gives them a " Guideline", something which allows them to check people's levels and improve their skills, and tells them they are going to be sent to another world. Ryu Han-Bin is a recent discharge of the Army who still hasn't found his footing in life. The Webtoon is based on a web novel (R15) by the same name created by YKB (Lim Kyung-bae). 2020 Survival Story of a Sword King in a Fantasy World is an Action Fantasy Webcomic written by Kwon Sun Kyu and drawn by Studio Khit. Edit: this keeps happening ad nausea it would be slightly interesting if the side characters got caught in it and solved it themselves /made them grow but whats bredictible is that someone of the main cast will save the day and deaths only serve to fuel a power up. In one scene 100+ die because of plot just to introduce some tension and after he goes out of his way to save someone unknown that casually has plot relevance whilst ignoring the suffering of anyone without plot relevance and then repeat. Lastly really don`t like how they are managing the death of characters. Not only that, but, the MC has becomes irrelevant in many explanations ,but we don't get any characters filling the place. And there are too many holes in the argument appearing. It was pretty decent until then but, along the way in the overexplanation, monsters each time have less sense. And then repeat this structure in whatever ark you're in. To then have the MC return to end the battle and say some interesting stuff plot-wise to then again get some chapters of "story building" that are actually over-explaining things that are mentioned in the background of the main story in case slow readers didn't get it. When we are thinking about dropping it they usually get him acting badass, just to randomly get various chapters without him. The story slowly devolves into a generic isekai/ fantasy with a totally passive MC unless it's necessary. The death of the sword king makes no sense it just serves to nerf the heroes and make a convenient yet not plausible story.Įdit 163: There were already glaring errors, but the author is fatally messing up the timeline.
